The ‘File of Life’ can help save your life
We strongly encourage all Lyme residents to record vital medical information in a ‘File of Life’ before there’s a medical emergency. Position the ‘File’ someplace visible, like on the refrigerator door.
What is it the ‘File of Life’?
It’s an easy way to keep track of important health information and it helps us help you in a medical emergency. It speeds our evaluation and enables us to pass along critical information to the doctors at the hospital if transport is required.
The ‘File’ is a tri-fold card on which you list important health details, such as medical conditions, drug allergies, prescription medications, and the name of your primary care doctor. You then place the card in the red magnetized plastic holder provided and affix it someplace easy to spot. We recommend your refrigerator door. All emergency medical services (EMS) personnel know to look for a ‘File of Life.’
